HC acquits Babar in graft case

The High Court (HC) has acquitted former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar, cancelling his eight-year jail sentence in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), report agencies.
The HC bench of Justice Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah passed the judgment on Wednesday.
Dhaka Special Judge Court-7 on October 12, 2021, sentenced Babar to eight-year jail in the case filed with the Ramna Police Station on January 13, 2008, for amassing an illegal wealth of around Tk 70 million.
