HC asks Azam to surrender to lower court

The High Court (HC) Monday directed Awami Jubo League general secretary Mirza Azam to surrender before the lower court within 10 days, reports BSS.
A division bench comprising Justice Sharif Uddin Chaklader and Justice Emdadul Haque Azad issued the order on a petition seeking bail for Mirza Azam in a graft case.
The court did not consider his bail prayer and asked the authorities concerned not to harass or arrest him within the specified time.
Mirza Azam, former Awami League lawmaker, prayed for bail by appearing before the court. He was not seen in public after proclamation of the state of emergency.
