HC bans coverage of Tarique\\\'s statements

The High Court (HC) on Wednesday banned publishing, broadcasting or reproducing speeches and statements of BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in all print, electronic and social media as long as he remains absconding, reports BSS.
A joint bench of the HC comprising Justice Kazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman passed the order in the morning following the writ petition filed by lawyer Nasrin Siddique Lina seeking HC's directive upon the media for not publishing or broadcasting speeches of BNP's senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman and other fugitives.
Tarique Rahman, information secretary, home affairs secretary, law secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Television (BTV), BTRC chairman, Ekushey TV authority, editor of the Daily Kaler Kantha and people concerned were made respondents to the writ.
