HC declares remand order against Khandker Mahbub illegal

The High Court (HC) Tuesday declared illegal the remand order issued by the lower court against BNP chairperson’s adviser and vice-chairman of Bangladesh Bar Council Khandker Mahbub Hossain.
A bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Jafar Ahmed passed the order following hearing on a rule.
On January 8, the lower court granted a two-day remand for Khandker Mahbub in a case filed with the Ramna Police Station, according to a news agency.
The following day, Mahbub’s lawyers filed a ‘quashing petition’ with the HC challenging the remand order and the court stayed the remand order for one week.
