HC defers hearing on Khaleda's plea over indictment

The High Court on Tuesday deferred till July 16 the hearing on a petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, challenging a lower court order that framed charges against her and seven others in the Niko corruption case.
The High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Aminul Islam set the date after considering a time-prayer placed by Khaleda Zia's lawyer.
Lawyers A J Mohammad Ali and Kayser Kamal appeared in the court hearing on behalf of Khaleda Zia, while lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan represented the ACC.
Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) sought time from the court for hearing on the petition.
