HC directs Ershad to allow Eric motherly affection every fortnight

Friday, 31 July 2009

The High Court (HC) Thursday directed ex-President and Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad to make minor boy Eric available to his ex-wife Bidisha, allowing him her company for two hours every fortnight at the ex-President's lawyer's Baridhara house, reports UNB.
A division bench comprising Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice Quamrul Islam Siddiqui passed the order following a petition filed by Bidisha (42), a fashion designer.
Four years ago, on June 4, 2005, Ershad divorced Bidisha.
Bidisha, now on bail, is facing a money laundering case filed with Gulshan police station on June 16, 2005 accusing her of laundering Tk 210 million in local and foreign currencies.
Dr Shah Deen Malik appeared for Bidisha, while Advocate Mahbubur Rahman moved for Ershad.
