HC for evicting illegal structures from Chaktai, Rajakhali canals

The High Court (HC) has directed the authorities concerned to evict all the establishments illegally set up on the Chaktai and Rajakhali canals in Chittagong, reports BSS.
The HC bench of Justice Jubayer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Mohammad Kamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order on Wednesday.
The court also ordered the removal of illegal structures in two canals in Chittagong within 90 days and asked the authority concerned to give two weeks' time to the occupants to remove the illegal installations at their own cost before eviction.
Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh filed a writ petition with the HC to mark the actual boundaries of the canals.
