HC grants bail to Khoka, 12 other DCC officials

The High Court (HC) has granted a four-month interim bail to Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka and 12 other officials in a corruption case, reports bdnews24.com.
The bench of justices Afzal Hossain Ahmed and Mohammad Hafizuddin gave the order Monday on bail petitions filed by the 13 accused.
The bench also asked the government and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) why the accused should not be granted permanent bail.
ACC Assistant Commissioner Harun-or-Rashid filed the case against the accused with Shahbagh police station on June 29, for irregularities in the appointment of five city corporation officials.
The appointment was given on October 18, 2006.
