HC judge embarrassed over Nizami's writ

A High Court (HC) judge Sunday felt too embarrassed to hear an application for quashing the Gatco corruption case against Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Matiur Rahman Nizami, reports UNB
Co-judge of an HC bench Justice Mashuque Hosain Ahmed felt embarrassed when Nizami's counsel Barrister Abdur Razzak moved the application. The matter was sent to the Chief Justice for order, court sources said.
Nizami was granted bail for two months in the Gatco case by the High Court on July 14 and was released the following day from the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Nizami filed the quashing petition. The principal accused in the Gatco case ex-PM Khaleda Zia recently got an interim stay order from the High Court.
