Ex-land minister Saifuzzaman

FE REPORT | Monday, 29 July 2024

The High Court (HC) ordered the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday to dispose of a representation that sought probe into allegations of accumulation of huge wealth and laundering it abroad by former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.
The HC bench of Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman and Justice Md Atabullah passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed in this regard.
Salah Uddin Reagan, a Supreme Court lawyer, filed the writ petition on April 28, seeking a probe into the allegations of accumulating huge wealth and laundering it abroad by the former land minister.
Later, he sent a legal notice to the ACC and other respondents, demanding the same. As the respondents unheeded his notice, he moved to the HC and filed the writ petition.
