HC reinstates Yeazdani as DWASA DMD

The High Court (HC) on Monday reinstated Syed Mohammad Golam Yeazdani in the post of Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA).
The court declared illegal a decision of the Dhaka WASA Board that removed Yeazdani from the position of DMD, as he was not on good terms with Managing Director Taqsem A Khan due to various reasons.
The HC bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Md Bazlur Rahman delivered the verdict after final hearing on a writ petition.
After the petition filed, the HC on July 16 last year issued a rule upon the bodies concerned of the government to explain as to why the decision of stripping Yeazdani of the DMD post should not be declared illegal.
After final hearing on the petition, the HC on Monday declared the rule absolute.
