The High Court (HC) has rejected BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman's petition challenging legality of the money laundering case against him, reports bdnews24.com.
The bench of justices Syed Mahmud Hossain and Gobinda Chandra Thakur gave the orders Wednesday.
Tarique Rahman filed the appeal on August 8 this year.
The HC, following the writ appeal, issued a rule on the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) and the government to explain why the case should not be dismissed.
The court also asked the ACC to explain why the Money Laundering Act-2009 should not be declared illegal.
The ACC had filed the money-laundering case against Tarique and his friend and business partner, Giasuddin Al Mamun on Oct 26, 2009.
