HC rejects writ filed against Khulna Wasa MD

The High Court (HC) on Sunday summarily rejected a writ petition that was filed challenging the legality of holding the post of Managing Director (MD) of Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Khulna WASA) Md Abdullah.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order after the primary hearing of the petition. Emdadul Hoque Bosir, a Supreme Court lawyer, filed the writ petition on March 21 this year as a public interest litigation.
The petitioner himself defended his petition in the court hearing, while Barrister Sayed Mahsib Hossain represented the Khulna WASA MD.
Advocate Emdadul Hoque said, "The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had earlier conducted an inquiry into the appointment process of Khulna WASA MD Engineer Md Abdullah and corruption allegations against him.
