Sunday, 25 May 2014

The High Court (HC) on Sunday stayed for six months the June 4 election to Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council (MSCCC). Passing the interim stay order, an HC division bench comprising Justice M Moazzam Husain and Justice Md Badruzzaman also issued a rule asking the government to explain why the election schedule and appointment of administrator to the MSCCC should not be declared illegal. The HC came up with the order after a preliminary hearing on a writ petition filed by Liberation War hero Kabir Ahmed, an MSCCC election candidate, according to a news agency.
