The High Court (HC) on Monday stayed for three months the elections to Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) scheduled to be held on May 31. An HC bench comprising Justice Dr Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain passed the order after the primary hearing of a writ petition. The court also issued a rule upon persons concerned to explain as to why the publication of 21 candidates dropping 56 other valid ones should not be declared illegal. The Commerce Secretary, the REHAB Election Board and the FBCCI Arbitration Board, among others, have been asked to come with the reply within four weeks, according to a news agency.
