HC summons Cox's Bazar DC

The High Court on Thursday summoned Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Mamunur Rashid for not complying with its order issued earlier.
The High Court bench of Justice J B M Hassan and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil summoned the deputy commissioner on charge of setting up hundreds of shops on the Cox's Bazar beach in violation of its directive to evict illegal occupation and establishments.
The deputy commissioner has been asked to appear before the court on October 19 this year to give his explanation over the issue.
The court also issued a rule asking the respondents to explain as to why a contempt of court proceeding should not be initiated against five persons including the DC of Cox's Bazar on charge of setting up hundreds of shops on the Cox's Bazar beach in violation of its directive to evict illegal occupation and establishments.
Cox's Bazar Development Authority's Chairman Lt Colonel (retd) Forkan Ahmed and Deputy Town Planner Md Tanvir Hasan Rezaul, Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Mamunur Rashid, Superintendent of Police Md Hasanuzzaman, and Pourasava Mayor Mujibur Rahman have been asked to comply with the rule.
