HC summons IO probing Sagar, Runi murder

The High Court has summoned the Investigating Officer (IO) probing the murder of journalist couple Sagar and Runi. The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Mohammad Ullah gave the order on Tuesday after three suspects in the case filed bail petitions. It asked the Director General of Rab to implement the order and get the IO to report to High Court by March 5 with all updates in the case. In 2012, Maasranga Television News Editor Sagar Sarowar and ATN Bangla Senior Reporter Meherun Runi were stabbed to death in the bedroom of their apartment in Dhaka’s Razabazaar area. After the police failed to achieve a breakthrough in the case, the High Court asked the Rab to take over the probe on April 14, 2012, according to bdnews24.com.
