HC turns down bail for ACC official

Deputy Director (suspended) of the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) SM Sabbir Hasan, now in custody, Monday failed to secure bail from the High Court (HC) in a bribery case, reports UNB.
After holding hearing on the application seeking bail, a HC division bench comprising Justice M Shamsul Huda and Justice Abu Bakar Siddiquee, summarily rejected the plea.
On January 23 this year, elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during a drive caught Sabbir red-handed with Tk 1.0 million (10 lakh) from his office at Agrabad in Chittagong, while he was receiving the sum as graft from a businessman.
