Hearing in graft case against Tarique, Zubaida adjourned

A Dhaka court on Sunday adjourned till today (Monday) the hearing in a graft case against BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Asaduzzaman adjourned the hearing till May 29, allowing a time plea from Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Sunday was fixed for recording deposition of new prosecution witness, but no witness appeared before the court on Sunday.
Earlier on May 25, two seizure list witnesses testified in the case.
Three out of total 56 witnesses have so far testified in the case. The court on May 21 recorded the deposition of the first prosecution witness ACC deputy director Jahirul Huda. Huda is the plaintiff of the case.
The court on April 13, 2013, framed charges against the two fugitive accused as it scrapped a petition to allow them to appoint lawyers to defend them in absentia.
