Hearing on Abbas\\\' bail plea April 21

High Court (HC) set on Thursday April 21 to hear a plea seeking anticipatory bail by BNP leader and Dhaka South City Corporation mayoral candidate Mirza Abbas, reports BSS.
Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, counsel for Abbas, filed the plea seeking bail for his client in a case lodged by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for irregularities in allocating government plots.
An HC division bench comprising Justice Md Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice JBM Hassan will hold the hearing on the matter.
Earlier, the HC bench of Justice Quamrul Islam Siddique and Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore dropped the case from its cause list, saying there is specific bench for hearing the petitions regarding graft cases.
ACC filed the case against Abbas on March 6, 2014.
