Heavy rainfall damages veg worth Tk 6.0m in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, Aug 11: A total 26 hectares of land of vegetables and 03 hectares of green chilly worth about Tk 6 million have been damaged due to heavy rainfall in the district recently.
According to Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), at least 900 farmers of Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj district have already lost their vegetable crops due to rainfall.
Moni Mohan Bala (52), a farmer of village Char-Ballabdhi under Muksudpur upazila told the FE that he cultivated green chilly on 26 decimal of land near his residence this year but his field was damaged by heavy rain recently.
