Chittagong Metropolitan Police (KMP) has given conditional permission to Hefajat-e-Islam Bangladesh to hold its two-day Shan-e-risalat mahfil at Laldighi Maidan from Friday. Contacted, KMP additional commissioner (Crimes and Drives) Banoj Kumar Majumder said the Islamist group was given permission for the mahfil to be held on April 11-12 on nine conditions. The conditions include refraining from delivering provocative political speeches, arranging checking of attendees at entrances at its own initiative and not obstructing vehicular movement by taking position in roads. Hefajat central organising secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi told UNB that Hefajat ameer Allama Ahmed Shafi will speak at the two-day mahfil as the chief guest.
