Leaders of Bangladesh Hefazat-e-Islam have demanded justice in the Shapla Chattar carnage in 2013 and withdrawal of all cases filed against Hefazat leaders and activists during the past fascist regime, reports BSS.
The leaders made the demand at a grand rally held at the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday, reports BSS.
"The people of Bangladesh could not enjoy freedom for the last 15 years. Our second independence has been achieved through the July 24 uprising. I want justice for the killings at Shapla Chattar and the anti-Modi movement," Hefazat Amir Mawlana Shah Muhibullah Babunagari said.
"Indian fascism and Awami brokers must be brought to justice. There will be no place for fascists in the country," he said.
Hefazat Amir said the rights of minorities must be guaranteed with priorities and warned the interim government not to formulate or implement anything that contradicts Islamic law.
"Any law against the Quran and Sunnah will not be tolerated," he said.
About the women the Amir said, "Hefazat-e-Islam stands for women's rights and values. The Women's Reform Commission should be dissolved and reformed. Its recommendations are humiliating for women and contradict Islamic law."
