Henman humiliated

WASHINGTON, Aug 1(AFP): ATP novice John Isner was not supposed to even play here this week, but thanks to a late wild card and 18 aces, the tall American sent Britain's Tim Henman packing far sooner than he would have liked.
Henman made a humbling 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) exit at the Washington Classic Tuesday, becoming the first ATP victim of a 22-year-old playing only his second tour match after leading the University of Georgia to a US college title.
Isner booked a second round match with German eighth seed Benjamin Becker. Henman, who won here in 2003, headed home to England with plans to skip Montreal and return in two weeks at Cincinnati, just two weeks.
