Initiatives have already been undertaken to make the country's higher court more pro- people through using ICT to bring an end to the conventional judicial system and administrative activities, reports BSS.
Chief Justice Mohammad Fazlul Karim, after assuming his office on February 8, started the reform process in the judicial arena.
Meanwhile, the list of cases is being put on the website of the Supreme Court (SC) everyday while the High Court has started displaying the cases through its website.
According to the court sources, the use of ICT in the higher court will help remove irregularities in preparing the cause list. In the SC, 160 bench officials are taking ICT training on every Friday and Saturday to this effect.
Necessary steps have also been undertaken to dispose of the pending cases. Attorney General in charge MK Rahman told the news agency that the steps undertaken by the Chief Justice would bring positive changes in the judicial system.
Registrar of the SC Shawkat Hossain said that all measures had been undertaken for starting the court activities at 9.30 am sharp.
Appreciating the steps taken by the Chief Justice, SC Bar Association General Secretary SM Rezaul Karim said it would greatly help reduce harassment of the justice seekers and raise confidence of the people in the judiciary.
