Highest turnout 82.03pc in Barisal, 94.66pc in Dupchachia

The Election Commission (EC) has estimated the total voter turnout and percentage about the elections on four city corporations and nine municipalities, which was held August 4, finding the rate as high as 94.66 per cent in one case, reports UNB.

According to the EC reckoning, the highest turnout of 82.03 per cent was counted in Barisal among the four city corporation polls while 94.66 per cent at Dupchahia in Bogra district among the nine municipalities.

"The average voter turnout was 87.71 per cent in nine municipalities while 78.74 per cent in the four city corporations," said a press release from EC Secretariat.

The percentage of voter turnout was 81.63 in Rajshahi, 77.80 in Khulna and 75.00 in Sylhet respectively.
