Hillary Clinton : Support from Bangladesh
Sunday, 17 February 2008
HILARY Clinton's support may be receding in the USA, but it is rising in Bangladesh. People are seen keenly following the US Presidential race with affection for the former first lady. President Clinton came on a brief visit to this country. His wife also made such a visit to Bangladesh. Both Bill Clinton and Hilary are remembered for their affinity towards Bangladesh and their positive concerns about Bangladesh's future. Hilary told the press that Bangladesh would be the first country she would be visiting on getting elected. It goes to show how Bangladesh ranks in the conception and calculation of this contender for the most powerful position in the most powerful country on earth. We are indeed flattered by her recognition of Bangladesh as a strategically very important country and in other ways.
We, in Bangladesh, have no qualms about female leadership. Hilary is a very talented, mature and farsighted leader who is eminently suited to lead the USA. We only hope that the people of USA would realise that they can discharge a great service to their country by voting Hilary to power as President.
