Hit by train, youth killed in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 10: After being hit by a speeding train, a young man was killed when he was playing guitar sitting on the railway track in Salimpur area of Sitakunda in Chattogram.
The tragic incident took place near Katusha Nagar area at around 7 pm on Tuesday. The deceased identified as Mohammed Omar Faruk was the son of late Shah Alam of Kalusha Nagar Sepoy Bari east side of Fakirhat over-bridge.
Locals said Omar Faruk was playing guitar sitting on the rail track near his house on Tuesday evening.
All of a sudden, a Chattogram-bound Karnaphuli Express train hit him at around 7 pm. Locals rescued him and rushed him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chattogram Railway Police Station Nazim Uddin confirmed the death and said a case of Unnatural Death (UD) case was filed with the police station.
The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy.
