Hizb-ut-Tahrir organizer held in Ctg

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) detained an organizer of banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir from city's Chawkbazar area Sunday night.
The detainee was identified as Sohan Yasir Ikbal, 28, hailed from Fatikchhari upazila of the district.
Acting on secret information, a team of Kotwali police arrested him from his Devpahar residence at city's Chawkbazar area around 9.30pm, police said.
Sohan, a graduate from Chittagong University, used to work as an organizer of the banned militant outfit in different universities and was earlier arrested for his involvement with the organization, CMP Detective Branch Additional Deputy Commissioner SM Tanvir Arafat told BSS.
"He started to reorganize the outfit after gaining bail from the jail and his family members are closely associated with the organization for long", the DB officer said adding that Sohan's another brother has also been in the jail for the same ground.
Sohan will be taken to CMP, DB headquarters for interrogation, police said.
