Hizbut Tahrir leader held in Rajshahi

A regional leader of outlawed Hizbut Tahrir was arrested from his residence in Rajshahi city on Wednesday.
The arrested was identified as Mahmudur Rahman alias Ovi, the regional chief of the organisation, a BSS report confirmed.
On a tip-off, a team of the Rajshahi Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) conducted a raid at the house at Terakhadia under Rajpara Police Station at around 8.30 am and nabbed him.
Quoting his confessional statement, police said Mahmudur had connections with the IS and will be further interrogated.
A case was recorded with the police station concerned.
