HK-B’desh JV to set up garment accessories plant in Adamjee EPZ

A Hong Kong-Bangladeshi joint venture (JV) plant is going to invest US$ 10 million for establishing a garment accessories industry in Adamjee Export Processing Zone (Adamjee EPZ).
The company, M/S Euro-A Zipper Co (BD) Ltd, will produce 22 million pieces of zipper, 20 million pieces of metal button and 2.0 million pieces of buckle annually which will also create employment opportunities for about 1,318 Bangladeshi nationals, said a Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) press release Sunday.
An agreement to this effect was signed between BEPZA and M/S Euro-A Zipper Co (BD) Ltd in Dhaka recently. Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Sayed Nurul Islam and Chairman of Euro-A Zipper Co (BD) Ltd Wang Lap Ronny Ng signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations, added the press release.
Executive Chairman of BEPZA Maj Gen Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, Member (Engineering) Khandakar Aktaruzzaman, Member (Finance) AKM Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi, its General Managers - Investment Promotion AZM Azizur Rahman, Enterprise Services Md Nurul Haque, Public Relations Mrs Nazma Binte Alamgir and other officials were present at the deal signing ceremony.
