HK shares close higher

Hong Kong stocks climbed 0.54 per cent on Friday as investors returned from the May Day holiday to data showing a pick-up in Chinese manufacturing activity in April. The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 119.34 points to 22,253.31 by the break on turnover of HK$26.51 billion (US$3.42 billion), according to AFP.
