HK shares higher

Hong Kong shares opened 0.22 per cent higher on Thursday, extending a recent uptrend, despite losses on Wall Street that were fuelled by profit-taking. The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 51.87 points to 23,131.9 in the first few minutes, according to AFP.
