HK shares rise

Hong Kong shares rose 0.45 per cent in the opening exchanges on Thursday, a third straight advance, as investors await the release of preliminary Chinese manufacturing data. The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 108.74 points to 24,080.61 points, according to AFP.
