Holcim goes for capacity expansion

FE Report Holcim (Bangladesh) Ltd, i.e. HBL, a leading cement manufacturer of the country has announced capacity expansion project. The expansion project, which is expected to start commercial production in mid-2013, will produce additional 110 ton cement per hour to meet rising demand of quality cement for construction sector of the country. After the expanded grinding unit joins operations, the yearly production capacity of the company will reach up to 2 million tons. To this end, a contract exchange ceremony between Holcim (Bangladesh) Ltd and Enexco Teknologies, a group company of Beumer Group, Germany has been made for supply of equipments and for carrying out related activities. Mr. Rajnish Kapur, Managing Director of Holcim (Bangladesh) Ltd and Mr. K. J. Putez, Chairman and Managing Director of Enexco Teknologies have exchanged contract on their respective side. "Our project will offer quality cement and we have completed almost all the primary groundwork, including finalizing the cost of the new venture" said Rajnish Kapur, Managing Director of Holcim (Bangladesh) Ltd; an influential player in the construction market. The company is planning to upgrade and adopt new technology in its production, as well as implement improved quality control of its product.
