Holcim orients new employees

Holcim (Bangladesh) Limited, the leading cement manufacturing company of the country, recently held a nine-day induction seminar for its newly-recruited employees.
Thirteen executives, who were employed mainly in marketing, procurement and other technical departments, took part in the programme.
The seminar covered the topics like occupational health and safety, product and production process, code of conduct, basic financial management, business planning, business risk management, procurement process, customer relationship management, branding, sustainable development, construction and other marketing issues.
Apart from holding the programme at Holcim's Corporate Office in city, it was also conducted at Holcim Cement Plant at Meghnaghat in Narayanganj to make the whole programme more attractive.
Holcim Manager Director PN Iyer expressed the hope that the seminar would help make their young executives more familiar with the organisation's goals and help them serve the company in a result-oriented manner.
The participants, who were mainly fresh engineers and MBAs, expressed their satisfaction over topic selection, training design and overall management of the whole programme.
Holcim General Manager (Admin/HRD) Bashir Ahmed made a detailed presentation on the company's strategy, its history, employees' key performance indicators, building management quality (BMQ), and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The company's Senior General Manager Kawal D Sahani, GM (Finance) Jasim Uddin, GM (Customer Care) Niaz Uddin Mahmood, Head of Internal Audit Emadul Hannan, DGM (Logistics) Denis De Costa, DGM (Brand Support) Shankar Kumar Roy, DGM (Customer Care) Jashim Uddin Khandaker, DGM (Procurement) Abdur Rahim, DGM (Dispatch) Abdus Salam, DGM (Taxation) Shofiqul Islam, DGM (Quality Assurance) GMG Mostofa, Senior Manager (Fund Management) Tariq Zaman, Manager (Production) Enayet Hossain, Manager (Maintenance) Faruk Ahmed, Manager (Admin) Farid Uddin Kamal and Senior Executive (Admin/HRD) Bakaul Alam Bhuiyan imparted the training.
