Holders can cash Tk 10, Tk 50 prize bonds by Feb 26

Holders of banned Tk 10 and Tk 50 prize bonds can cash their instruments from the branches of scheduled banks or general post office (GPO) by February 26. In a circular Sunday, Bangladesh Bank gave instructions in this regard against the backdrop of the government's decision closing transaction in Tk 10 and Tk 50 prize bonds. The circular said that the branches of the banks and post offices would send them to the head offices by March 31 and the Bangladesh Bank would receive them as per regulation. Referring to a gazette notification of Internal Resources Division of the Finance Ministry, the central bank circular said that the transactions for Tk 10 and Tk 50 prize bonds were completely closed down from January 31, 2015. — UNB
