\\\'Holistic plan of action needed to check human trafficking\\\'
Monday, 23 June 2014
Speakers at a view-sharing meeting have unequivocally called for a comprehensive plan of action to check human trafficking that also needs collective efforts of judges, lawyers, law-enforcers and others concerned. They also stressed on a need of proper enforcement of the existing laws to address the problem. There should also be proper and effective measures of rehabilitation of the trafficked victims alongside their family integration, they added. Proper enforcement of the ‘Human Trafficking Resistance and Prevention Law, 2012’ has become an urgent need to attain the cherished goal, they added. The observations came at a roundtable titled ‘Action for Combating Trafficking in Persons’ held in Rajshahi city on Sunday evening. Sachetan, a rights-based development organisation, organised the programme in association with USAID and Winrock International, according to BSS.
