Hong Kong-based co to invest $9.528m in Adamjee EPZ

A Hong Kong-Bangladesh joint venture company, named Yester Accessories Company (BD) Ltd (YAC), will invest $9.528 million to set up a garments accessories manufacturing industry in the Adamjee Export Processing Zone.
A lease agreement to this effect was signed Wednesday between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and YAC. BEPZA General Manager (Investment Promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman and YAC Chairman Ngai Chi Leung Max signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Among others, BEPZA Executive Chairman Ashraf Abdullah Yussuf, Deputy General Manager (Enterprises Services) Khorshed Alam and Manager (Industrial Relations) Md Abdus Sobhan and YAC Managing Director Bishawjit Kar were also present in the signing ceremony.
The company will manufacture button and buckle, zipper, hanger, leather patch, waist belt, PVC belt, plastic buckle, plastic stopper, velcro, lace etc. It will also create employment opportunity for 613 officials and workers including 18 foreign nationals.
