Hospital admission for dengue in 2025 crosses 23,000

Hospital admissions for dengue in Bangladesh have surpassed 23,000 this year, as three more patients died and 408 were admitted across the country over the past 24 hours, reports bdnews24.com.
With the latest data, dengue cases this year have risen to 23,220, while the death toll now stands at 95.
The Directorate General of Health Services reported that three dengue patients died in the past 24 hours until Thursday. One died at a hospital in Dhaka North City Corporation, and two in Dhaka South City Corporation.
The authorities did not provide details about which age groups the latest fatalities belonged to and whether they had any comorbidities.
In August, 12 people have died of dengue already.July saw 41 deaths, the highest monthly tally this year. The second highest was in June, with 19 deaths.
In addition, 10 people died in January, three in February, seven in April, and three in May. As many as 2,240 patients have been hospitalised with dengue this month until Thursday.
The number of hospitalisations this year reached its peak in July, with 10,684 patients. The second-highest number was in June, with 5,951 individuals.
Moreover, 1,161 patients were admitted to the hospital in January, 374 in February, 336 in March, 701 in April, and 1,773 in May.
The highest number of new patients admitted was in the two city corporations of Dhaka, with 94.
A total of 73 patients were admitted in the Barishal Division, 61 in the rest of the Dhaka Division, 19 in Mymensingh, 58 in Chattogram, 39 in Khulna, 54 in Rajshahi, seven in Rangpur, and 3 in Sylhet.
Currently, 1,326 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country with dengue, 396 in Dhaka, and 930 outside the capital.
