Hospital staff \\\'beat\\\' army men

The staff of a private hospital in Faridpur have assaulted two army personnel, police say. The army men are Sergeant Shahidul Islam, posted at Syedpur camp, and his younger brother Belayet Hossain, a soldier posted in Chittagong. Police said the incident occurred around 8:30pm on Wednesday. Shahidul claimed doctor’s assistant ‘Hasan’ was taking bribes from the patients to let them in ahead of others. This led to a brawl with his younger brother and Hasan pushed Belayet to the ground, said Shahidul. Belayet also pushed Hasan in turn. Witnesses said the hospital’s owners and staff attacked the brothers. Shahidul was holding his two-year-old son in his lap during the assault. On information, police rushed to the spot and calmed the situation. The cops have reportedly asked the soldiers not to lodge a complaint, according to a news agency.
