Hostel problem in public universities

Friday, 12 September 2008

BANGLADESH does not have enough public universities. Therefore, some students get admission to public universities after great competition every year. But many intelligent students are left out. It is a matter of sorrow that the students after admission face many problems including hostel problem. I think that the girl students face this problem more. Many students come from the outlying districts but the administration fails to give them seats in residential halls. Therefore, students have to look for private rented accommodations, which lack security for the girls. That is why many guardians do not allow their daughter to take admission though they qualified for it. Many girls are thus compelled to give up higher studies. The halls do not have enough seat for the senior students either.
The government should solve these problems to create more opportunities for higher education.
