Hot and humid conditions causes suffering

The hot and humid weather continued to cause suffering to the city dwellers on Sunday as low wind speed and no rain made the heat unbearable.
The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 34.6 degrees Celsius on the day and the minimum temperature was 28.5 degrees while humidity ranged between 60 and 77 per cent, according to the Met Office.
The difference between day and night temperatures was also very low and the wind speed was below 10 kph on the day.
The country's highest temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jashore and the lowest of 24.7 degrees in Teknaf.
The country's highest rainfall of 106 mm was recorded at Dimla in Nilphamari.
The Met Office forecast that light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Dhaka division today.
The sun sets in the city at 6:10 pm today (Monday) and will rise at 5:42 am tomorrow (Tuesday).
