Hot and humid weather persists

City dwellers witnessed very hot and humid weather on Monday, as there was almost no rain on the day until 6:00pm.
Lack of winds and high humidity added to the sufferings of the working people.
The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 34.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 28.6 degrees, according to the Met Office.
Humidity in the air ranged between 59 and 84 per cent while the wind speed was only 6.0 kph throughout the day.
The country's highest temperature -- 36.2 degrees Celsius -- was recorded in Mongla and the lowest temperature of 24.3 degrees in Bandarban and Teknaf.
The country's highest rainfall of 22 mm was recorded in Chattogram.
The Met Office forecast that light to moderate rain is likely to occur in many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions today (Tuesday).
Rain might also occur at a few places over other regions, said the Met Office.
The sun sets at 6:16pm today (Tuesday) and will rise at 5:41am tomorrow (Wednesday).
