Hot weather and health hazards

Sunday, 24 May 2015

The sweltering summer heat is increasing with each passing day and many people are falling sick due to extreme hot weather. In this adverse weather we need to take extra care to remain hale and hearty. We need to stay away from direct heat during  daytime, wear comfortable cotton clothing, carry a bottle of water and an umbrella with us so that we can protect ourselves from heat stroke. Tea, coffee and carbohydrate drinks of all types should be avoided. We should take plenty of plain water, fruit juice, and coconut water instead that provide anti-dehydration strength to keep our body fresh and free from dehydration. Due to global warming the environment of the earth is becoming increasingly hostile. Much damage has already been done to Mother Nature and we need to protect our greenery and natural habitat at any cost. We should forbid our children to play in open during daytime when the temperature is very high and advise them to drink plenty of water. Children and elderly people are more likely to fall sick during hot summer. We should immediately seek medical attention if a person shows any sign of heat exhaustion. Regular power outage and load shedding make the summer worse, and we have no other choice but to be prepared to sail through the extreme hot days safely.
