Hot weather persists

A comparatively hot weather persisted in the capital on Saturday as temperature inched up again.
The maximum temperature in Dhaka increased to 35.7 degrees Celsius on the day from the previous day's temperature of 34.5 degrees, according to the Met Office.
The minimum temperature, on the other hand, also rose to 27.3 degrees on Saturday from 26 degrees Celsius on Friday.
The Met Office recorded 3.0 millimetres (mm) of rainfall in Dhaka on the day.
However, the highest rainfall was recorded in Dinajpur at 69 millimetres (mm) on Saturday.
The country's highest temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees in Bhola while the lowest temperature was 24.2 degrees in Tentulia on the day.
The Met Office said a light to moderate rain or thunder shower accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere across the country.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it said.
The sun sets at 5:57 pm today (Sunday) and will rise at 05:47 am tomorrow (Monday).
