Houses gutted

At least seven houses were gutted in a fire which broke out at Rajobali Munshir Kandi village in Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur early Saturday. Witnesses said the fire originated from the kitchen of one Halim Mollah of the village and soon engulfed the adjoining houses at 4:0 am. Seven cows and five goats were also died in the blaze. Affected house owners claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up to Tk 1.2 million. - UNB
