Housewife allegedly commits suicide

A housewife has reportedly committed suicide in Basabo area in the city. The deceased has been identified as Tania Aktar, 22, daughter of late Ali Akbar. She hailed from Munshiganj Sadar upazila. Locals claimed that Tania had committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan but the reason was unknown. She was living in Wahab Colony area in Pagla, Basabo, with her twin daughters, they said. When contacted, Sabujbugh Police Station’s sub-inspector (IS) Prashanta Bala said that being informed a police team rushed to the spot and rescued Tania in a critical condition. On-duty doctor at Dhaka Medical Collage Hospital (DMCH) declared her dead on arrival, he added, according to a news agency.
