Housewife beaten dead in Sunamganj

A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband over a family feud in Tahirpur upazila in Sunamganj district on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Reshma Begum, 35, wife of Abdus Salam of Balighat village in Sreepur (South) union under the upazila. Abul Hossain Khan, chairman of the union, said Reshma and Salam locked in an altercation centring a family feud on Sunday night. At one stage, Salam beat up Reshma, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to Tahirpur Upazila Health Complex. Later, she died on way to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital at about 12:30 pm on Monday. A case was filed, according to UNB.
