Housewife beaten to death by husband for dowry

GOPALGANJ, Aug 14: A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband for dowry at Sitarampur under Kasiani in Gopalganj Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Narin Begum (21), daughter of Enamul Haque of village Sitarampur under Kasiani Upazila in Gopalganj district.
Police said, Farid Mollah (36), son of Shamsul Haque Mollah of village Dhalgram under Kasiani Upazila in Gopalganj district, married Nasrin few years back and used to torture her for dowry.
On Wednesday night Farid created pressure on Nasrin to bring Tk 50,000 from her father but she would not agree. At one stage Farid mercilessly beat his wife. Nasrin was seriously injured. Later, she died there under treatment.
